Andy Gugler was a major factor in the 6-5 Winnipeg win over Southern California. The Buffaloes catcher went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Martin Folsom picked up the win in relief for Winnipeg, while Andrew Daugherty took the loss. John Stockton earned the save for Winnipeg, his 2nd of the year.

Gugler had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Andrew Daugherty, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Buffaloes a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Gugler.

Gugler said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."

The Buffaloes, at 36-32, lead by one game in their division.
