Jeff Gerig had a good game, but he could not keep the Winnipeg Buffaloes from falling, 6-5, to the Southern California Empires at Empires Stadium. The Winnipeg catcher went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. At 28-39, the Empires are currently 4th in the West Division.

Ben Ledlow helped out the Southern California cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Empires manager John Andrews.
