Buffaloes Rally to Nose Past Southern California
|
The Winnipeg Buffaloes, behind a great outing from Dan Tremain defeated the Southern California Empires, 2-1, at Empires Stadium. Kevin Tilley nailed down his 8th save. The slumping Empires have dropped 8 in a row.
Dan Griffin came through with a big-time hit for Winnipeg. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager John Andrews.
