Eagles Collect 7-6 Win Versus Calgary
|
The Newark Eagles topped the Calgary Caracals, 7-6, the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Jeremy Buck. On the day, Buck was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Eagles. David Waggoner, the winner, is now 4-8. He struck out 8 and walked 2 over 8 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. Cody Reilly earned the save for Newark, his 18th of the year.
Early in the game, Buck had a 2-run home run for Newark. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Eagles on top, 2-0.
