Salyer Jacks Two Home Runs in 4-1 Ottawa Win
|
The Ottawa Capitals stopped the Vacaville Steelheads, 4-1, behind an impressive performance from Jason Salyer. The 27-year old left fielder made life miserable for Vacaville pitching. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Pedro Hernandez picked up the save for Ottawa, his 1st of the year. The second-place Capitals have won 5 straight.
Emilio Ramirez had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramirez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Ottawa up, 2-0.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Ottawa manager Mike House.
