Pitcher Tom Clifton was rock solid in helping the Allentown Fleetwings beat the Southern California Empires, 6-0. The 4th-place Fleetwings bumped their record to 25-21.

Clifton earned the win to move to 6-3. In his 8.2-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 14 and walking 2. The right-hander allowed the Empires few scoring opportunities.

"I liked his command," said Allentown manager Craig McCain. "Tom was throwing strikes."
