The Newark Eagles cruised to a win over the Mexico City Aztecas, 12-4, at Eagles Park. Billy Walton led the way, going 3-for-4 for Newark. The 5th-place Aztecas dropped to 19-24.

Rob Davidson had a big grand slam home run for the Eagles in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Newark leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he sized up a cutter from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Miller and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Eagles on top, 8-3.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Davidson.
