The Vacaville Steelheads, despite a fine performance by Allentown pitcher Steve Post, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Vacaville. Post allowed 1 run over 7 innings. Simon Thornley notched his 12th save of the season. Vacaville sits in first place in the West Division at 25-18.

With the bases empty and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, left fielder Chris Kerns delivered big for the Steelheads. Vacaville was trailing 2-1 when he belted a solo home run.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Craig McCain.
