Buffaloes Take Home 4-3 Win Over Newark
|
The Winnipeg Buffaloes downed the Newark Eagles, 4-3, at Goldeyes Park. The Buffaloes were led by Chris Kayser. Kayser was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. John Stockton earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-2. Winnipeg is now 19-16.
Had Steve Wilson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Wilson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Buffaloes.
"We found a way to get it done," Kayser said.
