Sherbrooke Canadians starter Ricardo Mercado turned in an exceptional performance against the Allentown Fleetwings at Canadians Park, resulting in a Sherbrooke win, 6-2. Jing Sa picked up the save for Sherbrooke, his 1st of the year. With the win, the Canadians sit at 21-12.
In the bottom of the sixth, Sherbrooke left fielder Mark Roberts had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Roberts stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-2, Sherbrooke. For the game, he was 2-3 with a double and a walk.
Roberts called the win "a pick-me-upper."
