Detroit Shut Out by Novack
|
Mexico City hurler Al Novack put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Detroit Chargers with a 1-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 5 strikeouts and 5 walks to pick up the win.
"I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Detroit manager Carlos Ventura told reporters after the game.
So far this season, Novack has a record of 2-3 with 36 strikeouts and 25 walks in 35.2 innings and a 3.03 ERA.
