The Vancouver Bruins stopped the Ottawa Capitals, 8-3, at Bruins Stadium. The Bruins got a big game from Mark Cruz, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Ernesto Castillo closed it out for his 2nd save. Vancouver has now won 5 straight.

With Vancouver leading 3-1 in the bottom of the second, Cruz hit a splitter from Bob Wallace for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Bruins ahead, 5-1.

"I believe in our guys," said Vancouver skipper Amir Johnson. "I like the energy they're playing with."
