The Saskatoon Moose beat the Winnipeg Buffaloes, 4-1, at Goldeyes Park. Starting pitcher Joey McDonald was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The winning pitcher was McDonald, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. The win brings the Moose to 5-10, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

Saskatoon used a clutch at-bat from Mike Reed to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Moose ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said McDonald.
