Admirals Earn Clutch Win, 6-5
The Southern California Empires got a superb performance from pitcher Kjeld Sijbrandij, but the Quebec City Admirals still won the game, 6-5. Sijbrandij threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Losses have been rare for the Empires, who are now 9-4.

Quebec City used the timely hitting of Alex Olvera to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Admirals on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Quebec City manager Curtis Holtz was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
