Calgary Gets 5-3 Win
|
The Calgary Caracals defeated the Green Bay Braves, 5-3. Left Fielder Joe Hoffacker deserved a large share of the credit. Hoffacker was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times for the Caracals. Calgary pitcher Sean Lee got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Lisuarte Apstola got the loss. Kasey Felton earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Jeremy Cooksey dealt the Braves a blow in the top of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Calgary leading 1-0, Cooksey, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Caracals organization, hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Hoffacker.
Calgary is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.
