Bruins Grind Out 2-0 Win
The Vancouver Bruins, despite a fine performance by Vacaville pitcher Ben Lanahan, grabbed a 2-0 win at Ballpark of Vacaville. Lanahan allowed 2 runs over 8.1 innings. Steven McDougall got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Steelheads to no runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Jeff Voyles, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

Vancouver used a clutch at-bat from Logan Tew to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bruins ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Tew told the Vancouver Times.

The win moves Vancouver to a record of 4-3.
