Shook Excels, But Steelheads Win
Vancouver left fielder Dave Shook had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Shook was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once, even as Vacaville beat the Bruins, 8-6. The win moves Vacaville to a record of 3-2.

Chris Kerns hit a run-scoring double off Ernesto Castillo in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Steelheads in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Kerns had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Kerns, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
