Tigers Come Back Late to Top Buffaloes, 5-3
|
The Tigers grabbed a win, 5-3, at Goldeyes Park, overcoming a fine effort from Winnipeg pitcher Emmanuel Rucker. Rucker went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Picking up the save was 33-year old right-handed pitcher David Martin. The loss has the Buffaloes at 2-3.
Had Chris Tinkham not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tinkham hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tigers.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Tinkham.
