Capitals Deal Moose 4-2 Loss
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Ottawa Capitals got the win.
Ottawa turned a good effort from starter Pedro Hernandez into a win over the Saskatoon Moose at Moose Grounds. The Capitals won the game, 4-2. Hernandez yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-0. Chris Kaplan earned save number 3 this season.
Ottawa used a timely hit from Emilio Ramirez to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Capitals ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"No time for posing," said Ramirez. "The next game will be here before you know it."
The loss lowers the Saskatoon record to 1-3.
