Allentown Deals Martinez to Edmonton for Martinez Wednesday, December 6th , 2006 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Allentown Fleetwings and Edmonton Drillers finalized a trade today. Allentown will send 27-year old CF Lorenzo Martinez to the Drillers, while the Fleetwings will receive 31-year old LHP Alfredo Martinez. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Fleetwings general manager Vinny Roberts said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. In his career, Martinez is batting .190 with 73 hits, 5 home runs, 43 runs scored and 25 RBIs. Martinez has appeared in 106 games in his career, picked up 6 saves, tossed 135 innings and posted a 8-13 record. He has a lifetime ERA of 4.27. |
