2006 Top Player Selected In SPBC Thursday, November 2nd , 2006 Rick Earp of the Calgary Caracals had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2006. The 29-year-old right fielder put up a .318 average and a .398 on-base percentage, piling up 108 hits, 20 doubles, 1 triple, 10 home runs, 49 RBIs and 66 runs scored. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Scott Lovely of the Ottawa Capitals finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Cameron Buss of the Saskatoon Moose finished third.
