Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Selects Best Rookie Monday, October 30th , 2006 2006 was an impressive year for Winnipeg right fielder Chris Kayser and it was capped off today with the announcement that he has been named the winner of the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Year Award. Kayser compiled a .276 batting average and a .372 on-base percentage this season. In 83 games he piled up 94 hits, 17 home runs, 44 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chris Ness of the Saskatoon Moose finished second in voting, while Chris Seidenberg of the Calgary Caracals finished third.
