Ottawa Takes Division Series
Friday, October 6th , 2006
The Ottawa Capitals were paced by a strong offensive output from Jesse Perry as they downed the Newark Eagles 3-2 to win the Division Series.
Ottawa won the final game by a score of 2-0 at Capitals Stadium to send themselves off to the Division Championship Series.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said left fielder Perry, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .389 with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Ottawa Capitals will play against the Albany Senators in the next round. Albany won their series against the Hamilton Tigers 3 games to 1. The Division Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
