Mike Beck Offers Wise Advice to Ron Medlen Thursday, September 14th , 2006 Mike Beck may want to look into a career as a life coach after his baseball managing career. The Las Vegas Rollers manager said he recently helped one of his players through a tough time. "Ron Medlen had broken up with his girlfriend and was pretty distraught over it - I just talked to him about it, just was there to talk to," he said. "I think he appreciated having someone to listen and sort through the problems." Medlen said his manager's advice was definitely appreciated. "The guys know he's there for us whether it's baseball related or life related," he said. "That's a valuable thing to have in a manager." |
