Edmonton Breaks Through for First Win in Division Championship Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Edmonton Drillers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Calgary Caracals, winning, 3-1, at Drillers Field. Drillers right-hander Dan Turner threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Drillers to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Championship Series.

Had Casey Bacic not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bacic hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Drillers.

"I executed the game plan," said Turner.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Drillers Field in Edmonton.
