Danny Beasley pitched a gem to help the Calgary Caracals escape with a tight, 2-0 victory over the Edmonton Drillers in a low-scoring Division Championship Series contest. The left-handed Beasley threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Caracals on a day when their offense dried up. Calgary now leads the best-of-5 series 2-0.

Beasley gave Calgary a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 8 innings.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Calgary manager Rodolfo Ramirez.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 10th , 2006 at Drillers Field in Edmonton.
