Vacaville Breaks Through for First Win in Division Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Vacaville Steelheads have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Calgary Caracals, winning, 5-2, at Ballpark of Vacaville. Steelheads left-hander Johnny McGee threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Steelheads to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

Tied up with the Caracals in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Steelheads got a boost from first baseman Ross Dowty. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Dowty saw a 2-2 sinker from Danny Beasley and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Vacaville on top, 4-2.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said McGee.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Vacaville in Vacaville.
