Senators Fall Short, 3-2, at Newark
|
The Newark Eagles downed the Albany Senators, 3-2, at Eagles Park. Wing-kit Chen led the way, going 3-for-3 for Newark. With the win, Newark goes to 40-34, while the Senators fall to 41-33.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Eagles had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Nate Spalding hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Chris Clary and made the score 3-0, Eagles. Spalding went 1 for 4.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Newark manager Elijah Jackson. "It's usually not just one thing."
