Winnipeg Buffaloes starter Jamie Stewart was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Southern California Empires, 3-2. The Buffaloes saw their win-loss record go to 29-35. At the same time, the Empires fell to 31-33.
Bob Brown, who is tied for 7th in the SPBC in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Winnipeg up, 3-1.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Buffaloes manager Matt Bryant.
