Fleetwings Rally to Nose Past Saskatoon
|
Arthur Hubley had a good game, but he could not keep the Saskatoon Moose from falling, 6-5, to the Allentown Fleetwings at Fleetwings Ballpark. The Saskatoon left fielder was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs in the loss. Allentown reliever Mike Mansfield was the winner. His record is now 5-0. The losing pitcher was Gordie Dolezal. Today's win puts Allentown at 29-31, while Saskatoon falls to 41-19.
Had Nate James not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, James hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Fleetwings.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said James.
