The Newark Eagles topped the Winnipeg Buffaloes, 2-0, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Eagles Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Newark pitcher Eduardo Olivo. In 6.2 innings, Olivo surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Josh Bartell wrapped it up, recording his 10th save.

Johnny Wallace had a big solo home run for the Eagles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Newark leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Jamie Stewart, who is tied for 3rd in the SPBC in strikeouts with 112, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Eagles on top, 2-0.

Wallace said he "would like to have scored more runs for Bartell. But we'll gladly take this win."

The Eagles improved to 31-29.
