Taylor Spins 7-0 Shutout
|
Andy Taylor was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Vacaville Steelheads hurler tossed a 5-hit, complete game shutout against the Quebec City Admirals.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Taylor. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
Taylor walked 1 and struck out 15 in the 7-0 victory.
This year, Taylor has made 8 starts, thrown 52 innings, fanned 62 batters and walked 16. His won-lost record is 3-2 with a 4.33 ERA.
