Steelheads Win with Late Rally
|
The Vacaville Steelheads picked up a win at Goldeyes Park, downing the Winnipeg Buffaloes, 3-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Vacaville was left-hander Brian DeGrasse, who played a pivotal role in the win. Chris LaBriola picked up the win in relief for Vacaville, while Bob Riggs took the loss. At 9-14, the Steelheads are currently 6th in the West Division.
Ryan Brown came through with a big-time hit for Vacaville. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Brian did a good job of shutting their lineup down," said Vacaville manager John Mills.
