Tigers Earn 2-1 Win Versus Eagles
|
The Hamilton Tigers and Newark Eagles completed their game despite the rain.
Hamilton Tigers starter Colt Emerich turned in a sterling performance against the Newark Eagles, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. The win went to T.J. Cunningham in relief, making him now 3-1. Josh Bartell took the loss for Newark.
The Tigers got a clutch hit from third baseman Justin Lawrence. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Tigers.
"It was a test of wills," said Tim Ebbers, the Hamilton skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
With the win, the Tigers sit at 14-7.
