Senators Turn Back Tigers, 4-2
|
Albany turned a good effort from starter Jacob Simpson into a win over the Hamilton Tigers at Senators Field. The final score was 4-2. In 7 innings, Simpson surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Getting the save was Ian Estes, his 5th.
Boutros Mukuru dealt the Tigers a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Albany leading 3-2, Mukuru, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.
Said losing manager Tim Ebbers: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
The Senators raised their record to 13-4.
