Injury Worsens, Return Delayed for Warriors Westrick Saturday, October 22nd , 2005
Yesterday Washington second baseman Josh Westrick sustained a setback in his recovery from a torn posterior cruciate ligament. The Warriors medical staff told him it would be at least 12 months before he will be able to return to action. Westrick told reporters, "The healing process has gone extremely well. This is just a little hiccup and a little setback." Apparently Westrick worked a little too hard in a recent workout and caused more damage. His doctors have advised him to do only light exercise and give the injury time to heal.
Josh Westrick is expected to undergo surgery in Washington(District of Columbia) tomorrow.
Westrick has a .256 career batting average and has hit a total of 9 home runs.
