2005 Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Announced
Thursday, October 20th , 2005
What does it take to win the Pitcher of the Year Award?
Just ask Sam Conroy of the San Francisco Peanuts -- the latest Professional Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award winner.
"My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Pitcher of the Year Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career."
The Peanuts pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 11 games and losing only 6. In 22 starts, Conroy registered a 2.91 ERA and limited other clubs to a .209 batting average. He fanned 179 in 139 innings and issued 30 walks.
Jose Ortiz of the Washington Warriors finished second in voting, while Brad Kuhlman of the San Francisco Peanuts finished third.
