September's #1 Rookie Named by PBC Saturday, October 1st , 2005 For the last month Luke Whalen has done his best to prove he can be a big game pitcher for the Houston Mavericks. He was the best newcomer and picked up the Professional Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Month trophy. In September Whalen rang up a fine 3-0 record in 5 starts as he dominated league batters with an excellent 2.63 ERA. He worked 41 innings, collecting 31 strikeouts while walking 13. So far this season Whalen has 4 wins and no losses and a 2.76 ERA. |
