Whalen Pitches 3-0 Shutout Sunday, September 18th , 2005 Houston Mavericks starter Luke Whalen really did a number on the Los Angeles Knights today, shutting them out 3-0 on 6 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Los Angeles manager James Walker. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Whalen."
