Texans Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Dallas Texans and Atlanta Pilots played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Dallas right-hander Chris Roche helped his team edge Atlanta by the score of 3-2. Roche kept the opposing lineup in check. Kevin Phillips earned the save, his 2nd, for the Texans.
Jason Clements was 1 for 3 for Dallas. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Francisco Chavez. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"I liked the focus, I liked the effort," said Texans manager Tranar Keats.
The Texans have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 13 games.
