Blackhawks Earn 6-5 Win Against Peanuts
|
Dan Stricklin did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the San Francisco Peanuts from losing, 6-5, to the Chicago Blackhawks at Electric Kool-aid Baseball Park. Stricklin went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Aaron Burkholder earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. After today's action, Chicago sits at 37-39; San Francisco slips to 54-22.
The critical at-bat for Chicago came in the top of the 12th inning. With two out, David Homeyer hit a run-scoring single, putting Chicago up, 6-5.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Chicago manager Seth Butynski.
