Getting offensive support from Zack Taylor, the New York City Blues topped the Denver Cutthroats, 8-3. Taylor slugged 2 home runs for the Blues. Picking up the win was Eric McIntosh. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 1. The victory gives the Blues a record of 39-36.
The outcome might have been different for New York City, had it not been for Keith Reiss, the 24-year old center fielder . Reiss stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New York City up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We'll try to build on that win," Taylor told the New York City News.
