Knights Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Boston
|
The Boston Shamrocks and Los Angeles Knights were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Los Angeles Knights went home winners at Shamrock Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Andrew Schumacher. Schumacher stifled the Boston Shamrocks, enabling Los Angeles to grab the 4-1 win. Schumacher, the winner, moves to 4-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Phil Knobbe locked down his 9th save.
Los Angeles relied on the hitting of Virgile Columbana to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights on top, 2-0. For the game, Columbana had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Boston manager Frank Guinness.
The Knights raised their record to 27-41.
