Ortiz Tosses 4-0 Shutout
In an outstanding mound performance, Washington Warriors starter Jose Ortiz fired a complete-game shutout against the Chicago Blackhawks at Warriors Park today.

Ortiz was the key to the Warriors's 4-0 win. The 34-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 6 hits and 1 walk he allowed.

"6 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."

Checking out his stats for the year, Ortiz has racked up 10 wins and 4 losses in 18 starts, posted a 2.41 ERA, and struck out 180 batters in 123.1 innings.
