The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Chicago fans at Trident Field.

Starting pitcher Tony Vadi had a solid game. He was a big reason the Chicago Blackhawks throttled the Los Angeles Knights, 6-1. In 7.1 innings, Vadi surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.

The Blackhawks got an important contribution from center fielder Jose Gaytan, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-0 sinker into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Blackhawks ahead, 6-0.

Gaytan called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

Chicago is now 28-29, while Los Angeles is 20-37.
