Blues Sneak Past Cutthroats, 2-1
|
Denver got a terrific performance from pitcher Ben Barger, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York City Blues. New York City won the Blues Field contest, 2-1. Barger threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. New York City reliever Scott Daniels picked up the win to move to 3-3. Trevor Busenbark suffered the loss. New York City is now 17-13.
Keith Reiss was the walk-off hero for New York City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blues center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"This place was jumping at the end," Reiss said.
