Knights Deal Texans 3-2 Defeat
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Los Angeles Knights and the Dallas Texans, pitcher Jay Williams was the difference between victory and defeat. The Los Angeles right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Knights win. Williams got the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Williams allowed 2 runs. The save went to Chris Kaplan, his 2nd this season.
The Knights got a big at-bat from right fielder Devin Buchanan. For the game, Buchanan went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Williams. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
Los Angeles, at 12-17, occupies 5th place in the West Division.
