Nelson and Martinez Dealt Sunday, November 7th , 2004 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Cutthroats announced today the acquisition of 26-year old SS Chris Martinez from the St. Louis Lions in exchange for 20-year old minor league 3B Gabe Nelson. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Cutthroats, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." During his 203-game career Martinez has batted .222 and collected 145 hits, 16 home runs and 57 RBIs. |
