2004 PBC Best Newcomer Named Saturday, October 16th , 2004 Jay Williams of the Los Angeles Knights was a rookie, but he pitched like he had been here before. That's why he was voted the #1 new player in the Professional Baseball Circuit this season. Williams made 22 starts and came away with a 9-5 record, a 1.91 ERA, and 169 strikeouts in 136.2 innings -- a year good enough to win the league's 2004 Rookie of the Year Award. Chris Phillips of the San Francisco Peanuts finished second in voting, while Ron Clous of the San Francisco Peanuts finished third. |
