Denver's Winston Snags Pitcher of the Year Award Saturday, October 16th , 2004 It was a glorious year for Pat Winston of the Denver Cutthroats. He finished the season with 11 victories and only 5 losses, with an impressive 2.33 ERA. The talented Cutthroats pitcher started 22 games and struck out 189 batters in 147 innings and won the Professional Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award. "It means a lot," Winston said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year." Ben Barger of the Denver Cutthroats finished second in voting, while Jose Ortiz of the Washington Warriors finished third. |
